Provides individualized nursing care based on knowledge of basic competencies in the fundamentals of nursing and pharmacology using the nursing process applied to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge. This position requires knowledge of standards of care, nursing assessment parameters, and pharmacology, including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and reactions to medications.Job Description:
EDUCATION
- Bachelors (BSN) preferred
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
Department: RN-OB
- NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (30 Days)
- STABLE Course (1 Year)
- EKG- Electrocardiogram Certification (60 Days)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
- Greater than one (1) year of working experience in a similar unit with comparable patient acuity.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
Department: RN-Labor & Delivery
- 0-2 years prior obstetrics experience within the past two (2) years preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Demonstrates in depth knowledge of nursing process in addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of patients.
- Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Timely completion of unit specific orientation and competencies.
- Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job. Must be able to travel in accordance with any requirements of your job (if STCH and/or own vehicle used on STCH business, must possess valid California Driver’s License and upon request proof of liability insurance).

- Basic Fetal Monitoring training- Upon Hire
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring education – within 6 months
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring education -within 1 year, review by-annually

Pay Range is $59.26 to $81.06 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
