Maintains and continually improves the Laboratory Quality Management Program (QMP), managing and coordinating related activities and completing tasks to ensure effective support of Laboratory operations. Functions as the Laboratory Internal Audit Coordinator, planning and coordinating internal audits to ensure ongoing excellence in quality and service. Coordinates the monitoring, reporting and assessment of performance-related information. Also coordinates the quality review activities of the Operations Management team to ensure continual improvement of quality and service. Facilitates the design and validation of efficient workflow processes, conducts quality-related meetings, and develops documents. Ensures regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of requirements and coordinating activities to fulfill requirements. Promotes a culture of quality by educating others.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's: Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Healthcare related field or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist Upon Hire
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of 1988 Clinical Laboratory Amendments (CLIA ’88) – federal certification requirements and State, Federal Accrediting Agency standards.
Knowledge of the California Business & Profession Codes, Chapter 3 and Title 17, Chapter 2 of the California Code of Regulations pertaining to the regulations governing the practice of laboratory medicine in California.
Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures within a laboratory environment.
Knowledge of data collection techniques.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and independently meet deadlines.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.
Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking and planning skills, and is able to develop plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles and resolve operational issues.
Ability to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and/or leaders to achieve business objectives.
Demonstrates ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues.
Verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pay Range is $64.84 to $97.26 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
