Position Overview:

Designs and develops advanced reporting and analytics, integrating clinical, operations and financial data and providing quantitative and qualitative analysis and actionable information to drive clinical/ancillary process improvement and/or to develop workflow enhancements. Evaluates customers' data needs and requirements, defines specifications and conceptualizes reporting solutions to meet business and customer needs. Presents data and analysis to operations, clinical and medical leaders and staff, providing recommendations for action and decision making. Participates in quality improvement efforts throughout the organization.

Job Description:

REPORTING & ANALYTICS.
• Extracts and integrates clinical, operations and financial data from disparate sources, designs and creates datasets, and manipulates data/datasets to create quantitative and qualitative analytics and actionable information to drive clinical/ancillary process improvement and/or to develop workflow enhancements.
• Uses advanced data modeling and visualization methods, including dashboards, and presents data and analysis to help customers recognize performance improvement opportunities and measures of operational success
• Presents statistical, numerical and graphical analysis of data trends to operations, clinical and medical leaders and staff, providing recommendations for actions and decision making.
• Analyzes patient characteristics associated with particular healthcare outcomes or future use of healthcare services, and analyzes clinical and economic impacts of quality improvement and cost reduction interventions.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT.
• Works with customers to identify and evaluate data needs and requirements, defines specifications and conceptualizes reporting solutions.
• Collaborates with team to develop and deploy reporting solutions/tools to meet a broad spectrum of analytical needs.
• Identifies need for changes to workflow and/or system modifications.
• Serves as a resource to staff and customers, and assists stakeholders and customers with leveraging information technology to improve operational efficiency.
• Recognizes and resolves data errors, and presents data management opportunities to stakeholders of source systems and processes.

PROJECTS.
• Provides project management and/or deliverables to quality improvement projects and/or business analytics, and participates in quality improvement efforts throughout the organization.
• Facilitates collaboration and coordination of technology enabled aspects of quality and process transformation efforts.
• Participates in the planning, development, maintenance and evaluation of quality/clinical systems.
• Develops analytic tools to assist clinicians/staff meet quality goals.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.
• Seeks and responds to regular performance feedback.
• Supports and assists the team when necessary.
• Contributes ideas and actions toward continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
• Recognizes and communicates potential issues to appropriate leader.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Mathematics, Statistics, Business or Healthcare Management or related field


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years recent relevant experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of healthcare delivery across the continuum of care.

Working knowledge of the various data sources available for quality management reporting and analysis.

Knowledge of current issues and trends in health care delivery/operations.

Knowledge and application of quality performance/process improvement methodologies e.g., Lean/Six Sigma, Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA), Rapid Cycle, etc.

Quantitative skills with the ability to compute and use statistical calculations.

Technical skills to integrate data/information to produce complex/advance reports and analysis according to user requirements and specifications.

Critical thinking with the ability to analyze and interpret healthcare statistical and quality data, and recognize, research and resolve questionable data or information anomalies.

Organization skills and attention to details.

Ability to define issues, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.

Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely.

Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, especially technical concepts.

Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

Pay Range is $40.25 to $60.38 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
