The charge nurse is responsible for the coordination of patient care services for the respective clinical specialty, patient population, and assigned unit/shift. As a patient and nurse advocate, the charge nurse promotes the optimal level of patient care. The charge nurse uses organizational, clinical, communication, and problem solving skills to assist in managing the patient work flow on a daily basis. This position serves as a role model and clinical expert for the delivery of an advanced level of professional nursing care and provides leadership in developing and maintaining optimal patient care standards in the clinical setting.Job Description:
EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Required
BSN Preferred
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
RN- Registered Nurse State Licensure Required
BLS- Basic Life Support Certification Required
ACLS-Advanced Cardia Life Support is Required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years acute care nursing experience within the past 5 years, at least 1 year of which is within area of specialty is Required.
Two years PACU experience Preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrates knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to: work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities, provide basic patient care to a diverse population, read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations, write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities
demonstrate leadership abilities, deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Knowledge of documenting in electronic medical record.
Pay Range: $73.66 - $97.38
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
