Responsible for building and overseeing Sutter Health’s local advocacy program to ensure it helps achieve Sutter Health’s long-term operational and healthcare delivery objectives. Helps protect Sutter Health’s ability to operate by moving legislative and regulatory efforts with local, state, and federal stakeholders to achieve collective goals and ambitious initiatives. Will also work with communications staff to engage, educate, and inspire our local communities and collaborate with our community benefit team to inform healthcare grant decisions.Responsible for working with the manager and internal stakeholders to proactively engage external community stakeholders.
Job Description:
This role will be assigned to the Central Valley and Greater Sacramento Markets. The candidate selected for this role must live in this area and will have built connections in these markets.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
Bachelor’s in Public Policy or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Professional experience in senior level positions in government relations, public relations, and community relations arena which demonstrates positive professional relationships with local elected and appointed officials.
Must have significant understanding of Federal, State, and Local government policy issues and health care environment.
Must have excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Must have well-developed problem identification, analytical, problem resolution, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
Must have excellent project management, organization, and consulting skills.

Pay Range is $83.00 to $132.80 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
