Providing functional direction to clinicians and office activities by offering input to technical procedural guidelines, and acting as a resource for lab personnel. Supervises the activities in the absence of the manager. Provides treatment, management, diagnostic testing, control, education, and care of patients with sleep and wake disorders. Analyzes, monitors, and records physiologic data during sleep and wakefulness to assist in the treatment of disorders, syndromes, and dysfunctions that are sleep-related, manifest during sleep, or disrupt normal sleep activities. Provides therapeutic and diagnostic use of oxygen, the use of positive airway pressure including continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel modalities, adaptive servoventilation, and maintenance of nasal and oral airways that do not extend into the trachea.Job Description:
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited polysomnographic education program.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
BRPT-Current credentials as a Polysomnographic Technologist issued by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists OR RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
OTHER-STATE registration with the California State Medical Board as a Technologist (unless RCP)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
8 years of polysomnographic technology experience in a comprehensive sleep disorders center, performing procedures on infant, pediatric and adult patients.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of basic management principles and methods.
Advanced understanding of computers and digital networks for digital data analysis and trouble shooting computer malfunctions. Proficiency in Polysomnography Scoring and teambuilding.
Knowledge of human anatomy, cardio-respiratory function, neurophysiology and neurology.
Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep-related pharmacology.
Pay Range: $48.70-$60.87
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
