Providing health care services to nearly 250,000 residents of eastern Contra Costa County, Sutter Delta Medical Center remains the community's only not-for-profit acute care hospital. Its comprehensive services include 24-hour emergency care, surgery, family centers, obstetrics, pediatrics, acute rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, occupational health, physical therapy, intensive care and coronary care. Cardiac catheterization, sports rehabilitation and home health services are also among the medical center's areas of specialized care.
The Staffing/Bed Control Coordinator assists the Nurse Managers and Administrative Supervisors in scheduling and providing 24 hour staff to meet census and acuity requirements. S/he develops and maintains all related records. As a bed control coordinator, s/he performs admitting and patient placement function from the E.D. and when physicians requests admission and transfer of patients as necessary. S/he evaluates and assesses staffing needs for all nursing units based on census, acuity, staffing ratios and competency of nurses. Maintains close working relationships with the Nursing Managers.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Staffing experience in a clinical setting working with labor contracts preferred.
Previous secretarial experience required.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of clinical standards of care, Title XXII requirements, staffing ratios, and current legal requirements preferred.
PC skills in a window environment including word processing and data base software required.
Microsoft Office experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
