Business Services Representative - SMSC Santa Cruz (Per Diem)

Position Overview:


The Admitting Representative is responsible for the functions of admitting, transferring and discharging patients, switchboard operation and data collection/entry.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Registers Inpatients and Outpatients by obtaining demographic, insurance and advance directive information in a timely manner.
  • Enters information into MS4 A/D/T application accurately. 
  • Secures and witnesses all hospital assignment and consent forms per law, regulation and accreditation requirements. 
  • Provides patients with Rights and Responsibilities and HIPAA Privacy Notice. 



High School diploma or equivalent, six months experience in a medical office/hospital setting  (may be met through work/study program) required.

Post High School level education in medical office areas, one (1) to two (2) years experience in an acute care facility with specific experience in hospital registration preferred.  Fluency in Spanish/English preferred.
