Provides administrative supervision and support on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in order to provide cost effective, high quality care according to hospital standards, accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Incumbent has access to Protected Health Information as needed to accomplish the duties outlined in this job description. This includes access to the entire medical record. Responsible for knowledge of and complying with current Joint Commission and Title 22 Patient Safety standards. Responsible for assuring that Hospital safety policies are adhered to. Makes rounds on all nursing units and takes necessary action as required. Serves as a resource in the patient care areas for any needs ranging from clerical to emergency response management. Performs needed monitoring or auditing based on management needs. Reviews the nursing staffing plans on an ongoing basis to assure that staffing levels are safe and appropriate to meet our acuity and state mandated guidelines balanced with being fiscally responsible.
