Position Overview:
Under the direction of Clinical Dietitians, the Diet Clerk maintains effective patient/resident service operations by performing support functions, as needed, in the following areas: Diet Office (phone/computer/electronic health records), Patient Food Service (trayline/nourishments/floor stock) and Patient Meal Service (menu retrieval and processing/tallies).


Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • HS Diploma Required or equivalent education/experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's required to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree within one (1) year of hire. 
  • Recent experience in an acute care or long term care environment preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of regular, modified texture and therapeutic diets.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
  • Good verbal/written communication and time management skills.
  • Must be organized, computer literate and customer-focused.
