Position Overview:
The Lead Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic sonography examinations for subsequent evaluation/treatment by a radiologist. The incumbent provides support, assistance and works with the radiologist in an advisory role. The incumbent is also accountable for the day to day operation and maintenance reporting of equipment. The incumbent coordinates the overall operation of the Ultrasound Department. The incumbent trains Ultrasound Techs on new and different procedures. Must have full knowledge of EHR and PACS systems. The incumbent contributes to writing policies and procedures of Ultrasound dept. The incumbent works with high risk and critically ill patients. Takes call for emergency procedures.

The incumbent must have graduated from an approved ARDMS Program.   Required
American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – ARDMS    Required
Registered Vascular Technologist – RVT    Required
 Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – RDCS   or CCI Cardiac    Preferred
 Basic Life Support Certification – HCP – issued by AHA    Required
Years of Experience
Echo Registry or experience preferred.
3-5 years experience in an acute care facility.   Required
