Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse IV Therapist functions within the full scope of licensure and will implement the nursing process to include the following: assess aptient and family needs, develop a plan of care based on assessment; direct implementation of the plan of care for a group of patients in collaboration with the charge nurse and review and evaluate effectiveness of care plan.
The Registered Nurse assures that physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, rehabilitation, spiritual, cultural, and self-care needs of patients and families are addressed.
The Registered Nurse reports to the Department Manager and may functionally report to the charge nurse, Assistant Department Manager and administrative supervisor. The unit based RCP, Acute Care Nursing Assistant (ACNA), Home Health Aide, Ward Clerk, Monitor Tech, Clinical Nurse Resident (CNR), and Student Nurses of their designated shift functionally report to the Registered Nurse.
Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an RN in the State of California.
  • PICC insertion certification.
  • Two years acute care nursing experience.
  • In depth knowledge of nursing process in addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of patients.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.  
  • Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
  • Associates Degree in in Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
  • National certification in IV therapy. 
  • Hospital certification in chemo therapy.
