Under the general direction of the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology, this position is responsible for providing all clinical physics services associated with the department. Specifically, the Medical Physicist is responsible for acceptance testing of new equipment, acquisition of commissioning data, maintenance of that data, supervision of the medical dosimetry and treatment planning section, and operation of the quality assurance program.
Master's degree in medical physics or radiological physics required. Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics required. Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical physicist providing services to the radiation oncology department of a medical center.
