The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.
Graduate of a school of nursing, BS preferred. Current California RN Licensure. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS-HCPC recognition or Greater Sacramento Region - Healthcare CPR. Current ACLS certification preferred. CNOR certification desired.
Minimum of one (1) year current operating room experience required. Six (6) months recent acute care experience preferred. Membership in AORN desired.
Knowledge & Skills:
Working knowledge in operating room instruments and equipment is required. In depth knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical and psychosocial needs of the patients. Thorough knowledge of asepsis and aseptic technique, bacteriology, pharmacology and anatomy and physiology is preferred. Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills. Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment. Good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills are required.
