Quality Management Coordinator Full Time Day Shift

Position Overview:

The Quality Management Coordinator participates in concurrent and retrospective Criteria Review, performing generic screens and/or focused review for Medical Staff indicator studies, and Hospital clinical or process initiatives. Coordinates regulatory requirements for California Department of Public Health, Center for Medicare and Medicaid, and The Joint Commission and supports relevant regulatory Surveys for the Hospital and Laboratory Department. Coordinates and reports data with Sutter Health System, including Accreditation Coordinating Council (via A&L); Clinical Integration; Culture of Safety Survey; Leapfrog Survey; Shared Learning and Pressure Ulcer Prevention site and QNET (Quality Network to CMS). Serves as a resource and coordination point for Hospital continuous improvement and accreditation efforts. Cross-trains in other functions and responsibilities within the department. Conducts and oversees EHR chart audits to assess staff compliance to regulatory standards. Provides analysis of audits and reports timely.





Qualifications:
Education, Licensures and Certifications: 
  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Master's Degree - Preferred
  • Registered Nurse - California State Licensure - RN Required
  • Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) - Required or must obtain 2.5 years of hire date
  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required
Experience: 
  • Previous experience as a practitioner in the field of Quality Management; Risk Management, Case Management - Preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze clinical data outcomes studies and statistics for trend or issues, and to implement appropriate action plans, systems and reports - Required
  • Prior clinical nursing experience - Required
  • Previous experience in analysis of clinical data - Required
  • Prior experience in THE JOINT COMMISSION (TJC) accredited acute-care hospital, including participation in THE JOINT COMMISSION (TJC) survey - Required
Skills and Knowledge: 
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, set and accomplish objectives
  • Attention to detail, exhibits self-direction, high degree of independent judgment and discretion, teaching ability, effective oral and written communication skills, as well as, the demonstrated ability to work effectively with others as a team member
  • Requires the ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Joint Commission, CDPH, MERP, Patient Safety Licensing, Title 22, Title 17, Title 16, CMS
  • Must be computer literate
  • Strong communication skills for verbal presentations and display of data, as well as, interactions with Medical Staff and other providers regarding patient care issues
